she's in 4th grade, have her ask friends where they play. Or look around where you live at car magnets or jerseys that kids are wearing on Saturday mornings

OP, we've had good experiences with both Burke Athletic Club and BRYC. There are plenty of girls just starting in 4th.

And yes, some girls do best on a team where they already have friends, but I've found it helpful for my daughter to meet new people through soccer.

If she has school friends who play rec soccer, ask what league they play for and when you register you can request to be put on a team with a friend or even just other girls from the same school.
