I’ve always had many, many freckles. Never got anything but compliments on them. They’re distinctive and beautiful. Make sure she wears sunscreen 365 days a year because she is susceptible to skin cancer and premature skin aging.

I you hate them, she will hate them. If she hates them, she will be insecure. If she is insecure, she will continue to struggles with her looks. Just love your child and know that's she's beautiful.

Cute in kids and young adults. When it starts looking more like sun damage vs freckles it isn't attractive

That's an oxymoron if you think freckles are ugly.

If you think freckles are ugly (which a lot of people - maybe even most? - do), then by definition she won't be pretty.

OP, look into lasering them off.

okay. maybe it's because i am a guy.

Freckles are beautiful and particularly cute on a child. Like red hair! Embrace that she has this special feature that other people are unlikely to have. It's like dimples or long lashes or a really cute nose. Some people/other kids might tease her for it but that's because people often reject the unfamiliar. It's also often just jealousy. I had a good friend in college who was mixed race and had blonde hair that was tightly coiled and olive skin and freckles. She was stunning, and had been made fun of a lot as a child (partly racism, partly envy, partly those things mixed together). But her mom had was so great with her and had really reiterated that (1) she was beautiful, and (2) no one could take that away from her just by making fun. In the end, it's the people who tease and make fun who wind up looking ugly and small. My friend still has her beautiful hair and freckles. She has a memorable face and self-confidence and I personally think it's helped her in life. But only because her parents loved and supported her and never let those bullies get her down.

Do the same for your daughter. I bet her freckles are adorable.

I'd be more concerned about the chemicals in that daily sunscreen and if she's getting enough vitamin D. But that's just the kind of mom that I am.

People seem to like Meghan Markle's freckles.

They used to, but I love freckles. Sadly I don't have them.

They’re actually trendy now and people who don’t have them are drawing them on with makeup. Regardless not that big of a deal. Hopefully you haven’t made her feel bad about them already...

I think that's old thinking. Freckles are now often considered distinctive and adorable. Btw I had freckles when young but they went away as an adult.

And fwiw, I always put sunscreen on her every day so that's not the reason.

I don't have freckles and neither does my H but I see that my DD is developing them

I'm worried for her as I've always though freckles were considered super ugly on people.
