If you know what you want and don’t plan to test drive, it’s good to go when the weather is terrible and nobody else is out car shopping.

I don’t think there is a time that is much better than another. All the dealerships are always ready to sell. When you need a vehicle is the right time I think.
Just purchased. 2020 models were not much left but I was looking for something really poplar. Mainly they just had lower financing rates for 2020 models.
Send emails to negotiate as pp said.

I bought a new car from a dealer in the last year and these were the suggested times to buy:
1) Before the end of the month (so dealers can meet their quota)
2) Before the end of the year (so dealers can meet their monthly and annual quota)
3) Just before the next year’s models are expected to arrive — if buying the previous year model

Whether you’re buying new or used, I’d also recommend sending emails to multiple dealers across the DMV with make, model, trim you’re looking for to get quotes. Once you have a good offer you can use that as leverage to ask the others for their best offer. Some quotes came down and others didn’t , but i ended up getting the car for a couple thousand less than all the other quotes. Use the internet to your advantage when possible.

It’s a good time to buy a 2020 model. Get in there before year end!

Will need something in the next few months.
