As others PP mentioned, yes make sure she is rinsing completely but also she needs to use maybe a quarter size amount of the shampoo, massage the scalp and let the bubbles sit for a full minute. Rinse well. H and S also makes a light conditioner- use this sparingly and then only the ends. Teach DD to pretend she putting her hair into a ponytail with her wet hair - then the conditioner only on the lowest 1/4. Rinse well.

Also suggest she does a final rinse with cool water.

My daughter uses this and it’s the only shampoo that keeps her hair from looking greasy. She has to shampoo daily.

Pantene classic clean. No conditioner.

Wash it daily.

Not cheap but check out either Philip Kingsley or Christophe Robin for fine/oily hair. These are the only brands that have fixed my unfortunate greasy roots/dry ends.

This is me and my daughter. I wash mine daily to keep it styled and not greasy looking. She has hers long and straight and can go a couple days between washes (but it tangles easily). I have found that the Garner Fructis Grow Strong fortifying shampoo is fabulous for conditioning and detangling for her and giving a little body for both of us. Plus, not expensive!

I've got fine, curly hair and, until I was about 50, had super greasy hair. I tried everything to reduce the greasiness but no luck. For the most part, I washed it every day because it looked bad and I'd get pimples/blackheads in my hair and hairline if I didn't. Dry shampoo only does so much. FWIW, I think my greasy hair/skin has helped me avoid many of the fine wrinkles so many people get at my age.

I had this issue with my DD when she was around the same age, she wasn't getting all the shampoo and conditioner out. So once a week I insisted that I shampoo her hair. When she got a little older it was no longer an issue.

And don't use a moisturizing shampoo or repair shampoo, anything like that which can weigh hair down.

She also probably doesn’t need conditioner in the shower. If her hair tangles easily, then use a leave-in spray before she combs it.

Apply dry shampoo the night she washes it.

Try a clear shampoo with mint or tea tree oil (or anything that says "clarifying"). My kids and I have this hair type and we all need to wash our hair every day.

DD is nine and recently I've noticed that her hair has been looking quite greasy. She currently washes it every other day. Any recommendations for good shampoo/conditioner that works for this hair type? My hair has always been dry and very thick so I'm at a bit of a loss on how best to deal with it. Does she just need to wash every day?
