Yes. Low income in 20s and dating was tough. Hi income in 40s and easy.

Why would any woman want to date someone with such a low income?

And then we have the, "would men rather date a woman who is tall and voluptuous or someone short and stumpy but has a lot of money"? Or, "would men be interested in a 55 year old woman who has never been married" or "I am divorced three times at 45 but with no kids. Should I give up on dating".

Age 25 and making $80k, no problem. Age 45? Problem.

Dating a scallywag? Yes.
Dating someone that isn’t superficial? No.

"Average income" to DCUM means something like 300K.

Yes, a guy with low income is not getting a date around here.

It didn’t matter to me. I just admired his work ethic. He now makes 525K but I’d love him just as much if he made less than 80.

DH was making very little when we were dating. Around 35K. I was making 75K. I financed his MBA. Now he is making 300+K. I am a SAHM with two kids. Not going back to work, No prenup. Everything jointly held. Happily married.

I don’t know — DH’s income didn’t matter to me when we started dating. I knew he had a lot of future earning potential. He was making $40K when we started dating in our mid-20s. We’re now in our mid-30s and he’s making $220K + bonus.

I also make six figures, but did not when we started dating. I don’t think it bothers him that I make less than him, but he’s been clear from the beginning that he’s only interested in women who want to continue working. He does not want to be the sole earner.

Under 80k? I know a woman's income doesn't really matter to a guy.
