Don't. Drive it until it dies. Drive it until you can't stand it. Putting that money in is simply flushing it as it won't help its salvage value . . . (resale value).
The thing is, I think the car has a lot of life yet-potentially another 100,000 miles if maintained correctly. I probably won't be driving it by then, but could pass it on to my teen. So I'm open to putting some $ in it, but I'm trying to figure out what is most beneficial to do while the car is in the shop for the AC unit anyways (a car with broken ac in FL is worthless pretty much so it has to happen).
This car's particular engine, which has a timing chain, is known for long life.
