I think that the idea behind it is sound, the execution was not so good.

I am SO GLAD they switched back. This was a horrible idea. I don't understand who came up with it, or how they justified their reasoning.

They changed their minds... "CORRECTION: An article on new virtual learning schedules for students in prekindergarten through third grade ran in the Monday, Dec. 21 edition of Engage PGCPS. After careful consideration, we have decided against changing students’ schedules. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience."

How are they going to do this for kids in late start schools? My kids instruction day starts at 9:00 and they start lunch at 11:00. I can't imagine they are going to cram in all the instruction in 2 hours.

I feel like they are basically they are over it so have day live and the other half, show up or not.

Do parents like this idea or dislike this idea?

I'm a teacher and I don't quite understand how this is going to work.

Just got the news in my email

Beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Friday, Jan. 29, prekindergarten through third grade students will be taught core subjects during morning instruction, prior to lunch. Following lunch, students will engage in two daily non-computer based activities supporting social and emotional needs, physical education, vocal music and visual art.
