We pay $260 every 2 weeks. I give her $250 at Christmas.

We are away all summer and continue to pay her to clean, even though the work is very light since no one has been home. So I consider that part of her "package".

I will probably tip $50. Individual private cleaner with her own informal-word-of-mouth business. Charges $140 for once in two weeks. This would be a good 30%.

She does not incur any cost for renting a shop, cleaning supplies, meal while working or childcare. She lives closeby with a supportive and functional family.

Yikes, I asked this a couple of days ago and just landed on doubling the pay. I pay $300/week and they won't be coming for two weeks during holidays, should I triple it to cover the off weeks? Seems like too much.

We have had the same cleaner for years, it's always her and one additional woman, and we're at the point where we tip them one full cleaning visit price apiece for the holidays in a card. So that visit "costs" us 3x what it usually does.

For a cleaner who has only been to your house 3-4 times, I'd be comfortable giving $50-100 and a card.

We pay $250 monthly, cash to our two cleaners. What would you tip this year? Was thinking about $150 each which is above the gift level we have for anyone on our list. Max for family and friends is usually between $50-100.

I would give equivalent of a cleaning. We gave double a cleaning as a tip (on top of the regular amount) but we have used them for years.

I pay $155 for a cleaning every other week. I tip $350 for the holidays. I don’t do tips any other time of the year.

Yes, definitely tip. If you’re in a position to hire a cleaning crew then you can afford to tip.

In past years we would give our longtime cleaners a holiday tip (pay twice the usual amount). We recently switched to new cleaners, who have only come 3 or 4 times. Would you tip them?
