We’ve had one cold since March. And honestly, our daycare’s covid precautions are not that stellar. I’m so desperate for care I can’t be picky. However, everyone has been healthy.

To any of the previous posters, does your daycare require masks, both indoors and outdoors?

My 2 toddlers/preschoolers haven't gotten sick at all this year. Everything else in life sucks, but that's been great.

Never. But we never get sick in a normal year either. The director says there have been fewer illnesses, and I trust her.

I’m afraid to jinx it but zero so far. My daycare center did have one covid case but not in my daughter’s class.

Once, in October. Hand, foot and mouth. DC was out for 1 week and we had to provide 2 negative Covid test results to return.

DD is 3 in daycare full time and she hasn't gotten sick once! Without fail, our whole family, including her, comes down with a nasty cold every October/November. This year, none of has have had so much as a runny nose! I guess all that handwashing, sanitizing, and mask wearing really does work...

DS has been in daycare since covid. He had a runny nose over the summer, negative for covid. Incidentally he did have an asymptomatic case of covid recently.

Pp here. This was true before Covid. We’ve had zero illnesses since January

Zero. They’re strict, there are only five kids, all the parents work from home at a couple of places.

Since late August/September, how many times has your child been sick with a cold, flu, or other contagious illness?

We're on illness number three here, and I can't help feeling like we're playing Russian roulette and the odds keep getting worse as we get further into winter. I mean, we're barely into flu season.

I must have had a false sense of security with all of the health precautions our school implemented. I just read on CDC's website that they don't recommend daily symptom checks because they are ineffective. I think the stat said something like, less than half of COVID cases are caught this way due to asymptomatic and pre-symptommatic kids/teachers.

I know some people have had their kids in daycare since March and it's been fine. However, the cases are expected to increase SO much by Jan/Feb, it dwarfs the cases from last Spring/Summer, even assuming testing scarcity suppressed numbers. I don't have any solutions, and we need daycare. Just frustrated at how much viruses are still circulating in a clean and careful environment.

Anyone else growing concerned?
