Equity in this sense is an intangible set of goals that can’t be measured, which leads to no accountability of performance. As opposed to those who have been discriminated against being brought up to standard scores, which can be measured. I hope no one is against equity, but not in the way these systems are using the term, to feel better about themselves and not helping students learn so that they can achieve success in the long term.
Equity means dumbing down the curriculum and given everyone less so that smart conscientious kids don’t get “ahead” of anyone. It’s utter BS.
Do you even acknowledge that there is a problem with racism in the school system? What do you think about the state's findings wrt racism in hiring and selecting students for the academies?
