Sarcastic comments - Let it go. You can’t police teachers’ personalities. It’s not hurting anyone.

“Sad” comments - That’s not sarcasm. That’s a legit technique to get kids to listen. Kids are people-pleasers and typically want to make their teachers happy.

Breaks - Override the teacher here. She shouldn’t be trying to control bathroom breaks during DL. Tell your DD to just go, no asking.

Not all teachers are great, most are t actually. That’s life and your child needs to learn how to deal with it.

OP, these are not a big deal. Does your kid like the teacher? Is she teaching well? If no, then switch.

The class can't be a free for all. How can she get through a lesson with constant interruption and kids hoping on and off for bathroom breaks. Of course she is trying to establish structure and a routine.

It's totally fine OP. It is a tool to redirect the behavior without scolding the child. Stop micromanaging the teacher. I truly want you to find another outlet for yourself so you can occupy your mind with something productive or enjoyable. This level of overthinking is not healthy.

Parent says she knows what’s happening in class. DCUM says stop helicoptering.

Parent doesn’t know every detail of class. DCUM says it’s her fault because she should monitor her kid’s behavior.

Parents can’t win!

OP here. It is definitely sarcasm in the way she says it. This was just today's example.

My daughter's Kindergarten teacher uses sarcasm a lot in class. For example, a child had a book during class and she said "Wow, you're reading a book instead of listening in class? Amazing." And she says she says she is "sad" when the kids don't follow instructions. I don't think children should be responsible for the emotions of adults. She also makes a big deal about bathroom breaks. She gives 2 10 minute breaks plus lunch and recess. If a child needs to go during class she will make a big deal about how they should go on break and why didn't they. My daughter is afraid to ask now. I have the option now to move to another teacher. Are these red flag issues for you? I have anxiety so I need other opinions.
