Not everybody that receives money from family has it in a trust.

I've noticed people have off-handedly called things trust funds, when they're really more like adult allowances from their parents. I guess saying trust fund is less embarrassing

I’ve only known well one but knew a ton in undergrad (SLAC) and met a few after graduating. And those are just ones who were crass enough to talk about it.

I moved in wealthy circles and didn’t know trust funds. I knew of a few people who got big inheritances but that’s not the same.

I don’t know anyone with a trust fund.

But it could be more common in DC. IDK. I don't have it, but have lnown at least 3 people who do!

Per google (the survey of consumer finances) les than two percent of Americans have a trust fund, the median amount being 285,000, which probably wouldn’t even count for DCUM purposes. If you’re talking trust funds in the millions certainly well under 1%
