I'm 45 (so started dating about 30 years ago) and don't remember anyone doing this. We wore our boyfriends' letterman jackets though. I never see young ladies doing that now.

And, yes, if the gift was a tattoo (ha!) obviously it would be his name on her. So maybe it should be his initial on the necklace.

I see in the Amazon order history that my young teen boy has just bought a woman's initial necklace. But it is for his initial, rather than the initial of the young woman he is "dating" (and there is zero chance he has bought this for himself as some sort of identity expression). Is that a "thing" now, like she wears his initial to show they are an item, or is he misunderstanding whose initial it should be? I would assume it should be her initial, but maybe I'm totally wrong....like maybe I'm thinking of a monogram and this is a different thing....

Help! If the necklace should be her initial, or both their initials, I'm sure he would want to know before he gives it to her. Otherwise I'm happy to keep pretending I never noticed it in the order history. Thanks.
