My DH can do it for you (he just did it for himself), charging half of it.

Unless you have a really unique delivery situation, such as many flights of steps, my suggestion is to pay in cash and offer sealed, single serve water, juice, gatorade, etc. Also, only pay upon completion of delivery and assembly.

I've been through this three times (delivery of exercise equipment during covid period) and learned through trial and error. Good luck and enjoy your new equipment!

I have a piece of exercise equipment coming. The majority is pre-assembled but I decided to pay for delivery and assembly anyway since it’s my Christmas present and husband is pretty worthless when it comes to putting anything together. Normally I pay the store for both the equipment and then assembly/delivery, so it wouldn’t even be a question that I would tip the workers who are probably paid minimum wage. In this situation, they contract out to a couple of guys who do all deliveries and assembling of equipment - and it’s more expensive than I usually pay (1/4 of the price of the exercise equipment). It’s $200 cash or check and you pay those guys directly. $50 more for taking old equipment away. So, I’m giving them $250 cash. Am I supposed to tip them on top of this? Thanks!
