Unlike many people on here, I’m a FB user. That said, I don’t monitor my FB friends. I use it to keep in touch, but I don’t let it be the only way I keep in touch with the people that are actually important to me, KWIM?

I have no idea the difference that happens to other users, but there have been circumstances in my life where I’ve deactivate my account for a spell. Could be your friend has done this for HER mental health. Or, she’s unfriendly you. It may have little or nothing to do with you - I often cull my friend list to make sure I am only in touch with people I am actively in touch with, and whom I want to share private stuff with. There’s probably nothing “wrong” with the people I’ve removed from my friends, it’s just that I don’t want to keep opening up to people in my life that aren’t part of my life. Friends coming and going is part of it.

OP- what was the 'old photo' that you tried to tag her in that may have precipitated her actions? I know when I first joined FB, I did not appreciate being tagged in old ES, MS, HS photos by others - some were inappropriate, or reminded me of my awful MS hair cut - but mostly I didn't like not having control over what was posted with my name attached. I learned to fix my privacy settings to prevent this, but I can see others getting off FB entirely.

Also, agree with all the posters above - FB causes more drama than it is worth.

Maybe you posted/liked/commented on something she is very opposed to, likely political.

Who knows. Focus on your in person friendships.

If she blocked you, her old comments would have disappeared from your posts. Sounds more like she deleted her account.

I had someone delete every member of my family because of my sister is a very vocal supporter of trump. I realized that the same way - when I went to search for her and she didn’t come up and my family members weren’t mutual anymore. Ironically I’m not even a Trump supporter but I guess she thought we were all cut from the same cloth. Whatever.

I have had friends deactivate their accounts previously where I received a notification when I tried to click on their profile.
On my friend’s account - it just shows an empty, complete blank page.
Is there any way to know the difference between a blocked account and a deleted (not deactivated) account?

They did you a favor. Facebook is awful and nothing but drama.

I had a Facebook friend I have known since Middle School (where we met.)
So it has been almost forty yrs of friendship.

After high school - we lost touch for awhile, but got back in touch via FB about 12 yrs ago.
We both agreed that we wouldn’t lose touch again and have messaged each other as well as made comments to each other via FB over the yrs.
Everything seemed perfect until about six mos ago when I tried to share an old photo of us and it appears that she blocked me.

When I click on an old comment she made on a post of mine, the screen is blank.
When I type her name in Search nothing comes up.
I am seriously at a complete loss for words.

We have many mutual friends and I was considering contacting one of them to let my friend know I wanted to talk to her.
But I would feel weird if others found out.

I had not posted anything offensive on my profile.
In fact I RARELY post anything.
No Pro-Trump/political or religious memes.
This limbo of not knowing is breaking my heart into two. 💔
I wish I just knew WHY.
To not know why is driving me crazy.

I am 100% that I never posted an offensive meme or comment.
Help! What would you do?
