Our PTA said that they give cash to every teacher (including specials) and so we should only give homemade things. I'm new, so not sure if people really do refrain.

Our school collected for a class gift and asked for $25/child to cover main teacher + 3 specials teachers.

A $50 gift card to Amazon or Target and a drawing from our child? We’re new to a DC private his year so have no idea.
DCPS limited gifts to no more than $20 per teacher that made it easier.

From DC but no longer in DC, so take this with a grain of salt, but my kids are at a private where one has two main teachers and the other has one, plus four specials teachers. I do ~25-40 for the main teachers and under 20 for the specials. But we also give gifts for teacher appreciation and end of school, so it’s probably $100/main teacher by the end of year.

Also, check with your class mom. On the years we’ve had good ones, they have organized gift baskets which makes it all easier IMO.

One hundred dollars I’ve unheard of, but it’s definitely the very high end. I taught at a faith based school. Lots of families give between $20 and $50. Some families gave $10, and others sent baked goods. Your teacher loves your kids and knows that a lot of families make huge financial sacrifices to send their kids to private. Never heard anything negative about a gift, so just give as would make you happy.

How much is usual and customers for primary grades Christmas gifts to teachers here? $100 per teacher? DC has two teachers. More? Less? Thanks
