Hape pull along puppy!

We used to live in a very small studio. Our older DD received this for her first bday and took it everywhere. I have videos of her walking through airport terminals with it. She still sometimes played with it (such as pretending to be a vet) when it finally broke when she was 7.

My kid varies in how much he likes them (sometimes a lot, sometimes not so much), but the Tegu blocks are a favorite toy to keep in the diaper bag bc they are SO compact. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004WMCZGY/ref=twister_B07YYZHL8T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks. I'm talking about something that can be stored in like a gallon size zip lock bag.

Melissa and Doug have this little shape sorting barn- I got my friend the safari truck version for her 18 month old at the time and he absolutely loves it now at 3 years old.

How compact are you talking?

Agree magnatiles are great, but I wouldn't call them compact. If you are looking for really small, my 19 month old is a big fan of those wooden apple lacing toys. She also has an alphabet/numbers puzzle that is by far her favorite toy. She'll sit with it for way longer than anything else. Not super compact but it lays flat. https://www.amazon.com/Sendida-Alphabet-Number-Montessori-Toys/dp/B07PK53TH7
One flag though is that the pieces are not huge, so I have to watch her carefully and we don't give her the little counting rings because they are small enough to swallow. If you have a kid particularly interested in eating toys, may want to wait on this one a bit.

Magna tiles!!! We have a couple hundred and they fit in one of those fabric bins. I like the picasso tile brand or tile mags.
