Grading does not correlate with success in a neat linear way. However, having done 2 cycles in columbia I found all providers to be sketchy with details. Like they didn't want me to worry my silly little head with important medical stuff. I made a point to ask for a printout of follicular count and size after every measuring appointment, and my exact numbers for bloodwork. Otherwise it's all "reasonable", "nice", "some grew more than others" and "blood work looks good"... used to irritate the heck out of me. Every single time I politely asked for every number and wrote it down. If they emailed, I would email the nurse back asking for stats. If Dr or nurse called about embryos, same thing - grades, not just how many. By second round they all knew I wanted numbers and ponied them up without as much prodding, forgetting only occasionally. You are your best advocate, OP, be polite but firm. It's your body that's enduring all the meds and procedures, it's your embryos, if you want more details, ask.

I got grading info but it wasn't particularly useful, and it didn't correlate to success. My two kids resulted from the poorest grade/day 6 frozen blasts.

I did not know to ask either but I asked for a copy of some of my records for my OB, and the grading info was included, perhaps by mistake. It was not overall letter grading, rather “very good”, “good”, “fair” and “poor” etc. on various qualities, the only one of which I recall being “symmetry”. My only embryo that lead to a live birth was mostly graded “fair” and “poor”. PGS-tested though; baby is 14 months and healthy.

I did many rounds at CFA and didn't receive grading info, but also didn't know to ask.

I asked the doctor about grading after fertilization started. I was told the grade of my one successful embryo (and now baby) was "reasonable."

I feel like they don't rely on one. They'll tell you if the embryo is, I think it's called mosaic (?) and the rating if you press them. Other friends of mine who have used other clinics have been able to know all sorts of grading info that I couldn't seem to get from them. You do get a cell count.

Does anybody know of embryo grading system in columbia? I know they got all the hard cases that Shady Grove turned away, but it's annoying they always avoid questions on embryo grading and ivf stat.
