OP here and this is exactly my situation, which is why I am asking here. DS doesn’t care but my nephews definitely do!

Get them ones associated with the sports team from your town. Don’t try to figure out what brand is cool. Target has nice ones for the Ravens etc for about $40/each

I agree with these brands. I have a 12th grade boy and these are what he'd choose.

Do you mean sweaters or athletic wear? If sweaters, check out JCrew and JCrew Factory. I’ve purchased a number of them there over the years for my sons.

Patagonia, LLBean, and Lands End. But Lands End is cheaper so may not be considered cool. You could also consider Smart wool.

Try Lululemon, Rag and Bone or Faherty. My teen DS would wear VV but it wouldn’t be his first choice.

I would like to get my nephews, 9th and 12th grades, quarter zips or something like that for Christmas. They are both students at New England boarding schools if that matters. I am not sure if Vineyard Vines is "in" anymore? What brands should I look for - and if not quarter zips, what else? Thank you.
