Same experience and I know the dud teacher DS had retired a couple years after he was in that class. My kids are in HS now and the very-long-term principal retired a year or so ago, so I don't know if the culture has shifted any. One thing I appreciated was that it seemed the school was very oriented to supporting working parents. Very few events during the school day where they wanted parents to show up, PTA meetings in the evenings, family events on weekends only, very little asking of parents to volunteer. Very well utilized extended day program.

I think the only thing disliked about the school is it has a pretty crappy playground relative to other schools and we were told the PTA can't even fundraise to upgrade it because it is technically county property not school property.

We're there and like it. Small classes, good and responsive leadership. We sought it out because it's a nice blend of achievement and diversity. Everyone lives in the immediate neighborhood so it's easy to get to know people. And the parents are generally involved but not over-the-top. I don't think there is a Facebook group for parents.

Thinking about buying a house that is zoned for Long Branch. Its about a block from the school and I think its in the walk zone, so I don't think it would get zoned out in future rezonings (2022?). Can people who go there tell me about the school -- good and bad? Is there a facebook group I could join for current Long Branch parents?
