Don't participate if your family is multi-generational.

We decided not to do indoor soccer or futsal. It was a tough decision and I am worried about my kids keeping up with their skills and fitness, not to mention the socialization they get through sports. However, we decided that at least for this first session during the surge in cases, it was best for our family and responsible for the community to limit exposure as much as possible. DH still has to do some public facing work, and we hope to be able to see grandparents at some point over the holidays, at least outside.

DD has been participating in indoor sports since Summer with masks - but is limiting her contact with grandparents.

I think it does depend on the sport. I wouldn't do gymnastics (unless masked and all surfaces are cleaned between participants) - so unlikely they could do that. I would not think contact sports (basketball, soccer, etc)

Volleyball with masks, hockey with masks, fencing, indoor swimming - probably yes.

Our area added some late season outdoor sessions- you might want to look around.

Depends on the sport. Distanced, masked like fencing? Yes although probably not as many times per week as we usually do. Contact sport, no masks like hockey or box lacrosse? No. Also depends on how much my child loves the sport.

I’m reconsidering the outdoor clinics mine are about to start.

Indoors definitely a no go.

We were doing indoor group tennis up until a few weeks ago but we decided to take a break until spring. Will do private lessons instead.

Another DD is still doing gymnastics but her practice group is small and they wear masks at all times.

The problem for me is with most indoor sports they are touching the same ball or up close in each other’s faces.

We are but I may make them wear masks.

Would you let your kid participate in indoor sports 2x per week? We signed up but now I’m having 2nd thoughts with the numbers going up.
