Yes it’s unreasonable. The goal is to get kids back in school.

Of course it is. And 6-12 will go in January. The metrics they created are so high they might as well not exist. Who cares what the numbers are right. Just go back.

Way to go LCPS. Let's hope all the other local districts follow your lead.

Anonymous wrote:Yes, based on the latest LCPS "core indicator" stats, which are 1) total number of new cases per 100,000 people in last 14 days in the county and 2) percentage of RT-PCR tests positive in the last 14 days in the county.

To roll back hybrid the first number must be more than 200, which it has been since they introduced these metrics (slowly but steadily rising, currently at 283.9), and the second number must 10% or higher, which it is not (down to 7.6% vs 8.3% a week ago).

The LCPS positive cases continue to trend upward, but the total (cumulative) confirmed case numbers since Sept. 8 are 102 positive staff members (including at non-school/administrative work locations and construction sites) and 49 positive students. I don't see any easy way to get a breakdown on case numbers since hybrid kids went back Oct. 27, which would be nice to know (and probably can be found somewhere, I'm just not going digging for it right now).

What’s rt pcr and why is that important?

There is no reason not to open, other than teachers just don’t want to. So glad they are pushing forward. Hope my middle schooler gets to go in January but I’m skeptical.

+1. Show 'em how it's done. We've definitely considered making the move based on LCPS's leadership on this issue.

we moved to FCC for this very reason. FCC, LCPS, PWC, look for ways to reopen. FCPS,APS, ACPS look for reasons to stay closed.
