Got some Tate’s cookies recently from there on a whim and they were stale af. Suspicions confirmed. I will never buy food from these stores ever again.

Yes. A long time ago I remember seeing something about how the oil is fake.
But as for snacks, candy and cookies I purchase them. Just look at the expiration date.

I always check the expiration dates and only buy brands I know. I’ve done well with Starbucks coffee there.

I always assumed that it was overrun or didn't get purchased by the big stores or something.we buy it for stocking stuffers for our own family and have never had an issue.
Now, some designers have lines specifically for these stores. I wonder if food is the same.

I am always leery that it might be stale - why else would it be at TJ Maxx.

Stuff that's shelf-stable is probably fine, just keep the receipt.
The chocolate and other items that might be affected by temperature changes make me wonder...

I always get the random quinoa chips you see in the aisles and they are always great!

Hi, just wondering if it's okay to purchse food from TJMAXX/MARSHALLS. I know they are the discount retailer for last years styles but i'm curious about their food. I see things like pasta or Vietnamese cinnamonand assume that's okay but i'm curious about things like cookies (baked good in general) or honey, or pasta sauce for example. Is this all good? Also the items are so unique-are they safe to give as gifts or are these a no go? if not what about personal use?
