Maradona was among the last of those athletes who seemed to think off-season training and monitoring one's complex carb intake were things that hindered him from (any or all of) eating, drinking, drug use, or womanizing. (Andy Ruiz Jr almost brought us back.)

I never liked him when I was younger, but the movie fundamentally changed my view of him and I grew to understand how incredible his transformation at and of Napoli was given how he had washed out at Barca. There's just something magical about watching players who could simply be regular guys on the street but who have physical and mental capabilities that are otherwordly. A hard life but a full life. I wish his last 10 years could have been a little more restful for him.
