I don't know what's hard to get about "maintain social distancing." The word "maintain" = for a period of time. Sustained, prolonged, etc. There's nothing to "maintain" if you are passing someone on a sidewalk in half a second, from 1ft away. You don't get covid passing someone so briefly. If it were that incredibly contagious, we'd all have had it by now.
