I agree. A friend had some test done and they insisted he come back in for results (dermatologist). Well, turns out he was just fine and they kept roping him back in for stupid stuff (buy this cream, it'll work with your issues, etc.).

Thanks all. I actually have the appt this afternoon. I saw her last Wednesday as a new patient, and they called me Saturday afternoon asking me to come back in. I assumed the results would be up on the portal, but they are not. The way the person phrased it was concerning (come in to discuss the results), but the fact they're not posted yet is extra concerning now.

I've had thyroid issues for years, and they always just discuss the labwork over the phone and I see the stuff up on the portal right away. So this strikes me as odd. I'll know more in a few hours and update y'all.

Could be lots of things. My dr called me back in to discuss thyroid results once, high cholesterol another time.

This. I was called in after colonoscopy and was told everything looks good. Cost me an hour of my time and $35.

I recently had the same issue. My bloodwork showed an issue, my Dr wanted to double check in a month (we did, and everything was normal).

I don't want to scare you, but if they want you back ASAP it's potentially serious. If they want you to wait, it's less serious. Call them, see what the issue is, and go back.

I would almost imagine anything they are seeing would require a second step - either more blood work, or some other kind of evaluative testing. If they did run of the mill bloodwork for a physical, they might've seen something out of range, but either they could share that with you easily (e.g., high cholesterol) or they'd say "x and y are high, so let's get follow up bloodwork or a scan of z."

So it seems they could discuss that over the phone, especially as PP said, in a pandemic. Was it the doctor who called you, or the office? If the office, I would call back and ask to speak to the doctor.

This can’t be good, can it? It was just a checkup. What could they have found in that sort of bloodwork? The lab results aren’t on the portal yet.
