Our town just added a late fall session.

I have 2 children in MSI soccer, one in Recreation and one in Classic. They played all Fall with masks, and it was safe (also limited parent attendance).

They will both be playing in the MSI Winter League, again with masks, again with limited parents in attendance, and now, limited to 7v7 teams in all age groups, only 10 at the field on game day.

We feel it is outdoors, so limited risk, plus wearing masks limits risk even more, plus smaller sized groups so limits risk even more.

I know of soccer leagues doing winter seasons. Arlington for one has a full slate of clinics.

The risk of outdoor spread is so low. On the balance of COVID risk versus the risks of total isolation, I think outdoor sports for all but the highest risk groups would come out as a good idea.

DC is in travel soccer league which wrapped up a week ago for the holidays. We aren't having her play indoor this winter. I think it was safe and had zero cases since they started practicing in July. Overall, we aren't stay at home 100% type of family so the sensible mask wearing, outside sport without socializing before/after games seemed safe enough for us.

It depends. Travel heavy soccer where people are carpooling and eating out together? That is going on, and no it's not safe.

Practice + game outside all the time with no side activities? I think can be safe/low risk. Probably not no risk.

Our kids' season wrapped up two weeks ago. They're supposed to begin some winter training in a few weeks, but if numbers continue to rise, we may skip it.

We pulled our kids from soccer last week because of the spike in cases.

Yes, I am comfortable with outdoor sports especially for the younger kids.

Yes we’ve been in outdoor soccer all year. Is it safe? I don’t know. Personally, I think there’s some rest there. Everybody wears masks, including the parents, kids, and coaches. While the parents to stay somewhat distant, we are still talking to each other for an hour. The kids are close together, and the coaches are right in there with the kids. One of our coaches tested positive for Covid. Fortunately, we’re not really doing anything else, so there was nothing to really quarantine our child fun. Although we did get him tested specifically because about a week after we heard about the coach testing positive, my son came down with a fever and a cough and a runny nose. (He tested negative).

A friend of mine has a kid in a competitively. He continues to play soccer. One of the parents on that team tested positive. She spent about an hour chatting with that parent at practice. I’m not sure what actions she took.

Our kids are in soccer but everyone wears their masks the entire time.

Even if the didn't, yes, I would consider it safe. There have been studies showing its is not a source of transmission at all. Out doors and kids are not near each other anywhere near 15 minutes.
