I’m nervous about cases going up, but I’m sending my kiddo. I can’t take that time off work.

Take your kid out now until the end of the holidays. Our preschool has had two positive cases in the past week - they were doing a great job of fully masking and keeping classes separated.

We are going to try keeping our child home for a week after each holiday.

No. We are doing our part and hope others do theirs by staying home if they have travelled or interacted with others

It seems like this is a pretty popular idea in our center. At least half of DD's six person class is doing this, but don't know about the others.

Well better for the rest of us who still need care I guess!

Okay? Not sure what your problem is.

Same. I can’t take off the entire month of December and CC also can’t leave my 2yo unattended.

We are sending to school after Thanksgiving feeling good enough about the precautions they’re taking.

Christmas break we are extending the break and driving to a beach house so it’s a moot point for my kid - though who I plan to test before sending back to school despite the fact that she will have less interactions with people the way we do a driving a beach trip than she does during our normal stay at home when she attends school.

Some schools are acknowledging that families will visit over winter break/Christmas/Hanukkah holidays so are allowing for the 14-day quarantine and doing distance learning until January 11 return to campus.

Families MUST have their visiting over in time for the full 14-day quarantine. Families have signed community agreements to keep each other safe and healthy. People know by now if their school community is trustworthy.

DC is in a daycare with good precautions (small class, mask, etc). Based on just talking to friends, it doesn't feel like a lot of the families are following the request not to visit or have people over for the holiday or keep your child home for 2 weeks after. We are fortunate enough that we are able to/ thinking about keeping DC home the week after Thanksgiving (though our 4 year old will likely be watching TV while we work) and it seems like at least one other family is. Are others thinking about this? We are also thinking the same for Christmas-- but not sure if that would be the week of the 28th or the week of 1/4 too or waiting to if Thanksgiving has any issues. Curious what others are doing.
