The key thing is not the testing but maintaining the masking and the social distancing. If your club is doing this well, the risk of transmission is very low. Of course if the kids start socializing together again. . . Different story.

Op here. Personally, I love the fact that former swimmers return to swim with the club team. It continues friendships and bonds and gives the younger swimmers a lens into what college/swimming may be like. Unfortunately, this year presents a new consideration in the form of Covid.

I have not and will not ask the coach, as I have no desire or intent to impinge on or potentially impact any decision-making the coach may have regarding this. I'm fine with whatever the coach/coaches decide and would simply toggle our family's approach. I am positing this question to other swim parents (hopefully) that may have input or information that I do not have (or perhaps did not consider) and are kind enough to share. I believe this is one of the many benefits a community forum such as this affords us.

It sounds like they let kids come back and swim. OP will have no control over it. Given they aren't doing testing, COVID can come from anyone on the team and they wouldn't know.

Not my kid’s club. The practices are as full as they are currently allowed to be, and the club would be breaking their agreement with the facilities if they added more swimmers.

Don't blame the college kids when the parents/kids on the team can choose risky behaviors that put everyone at risk too.

No swim teams are requiring testing and safe home practices.

Most are full so there is no space to put new swimmers given the reduced pool schedules.

I highly doubt it, since I didn't hear about any clubs requiring a negative covid test before starting practices in the fall. Unless your kid already has a time for the champs meet, just keep them home if you're that worried. The training cycles are all messed up, this upcoming week is no longer the be-all end-all.

College swimmers oftentimes return to their club teams for breaks, including Thanksgiving.

Anyone know if their club team will require covid testing before Ok-ing the college returnees to join the regular club team practices?

This is causing me a little bit of concern as club teams are mostly comprised of high schoolers who have, for the most part been remote schooling vs college students who are generally more mobile with a higher propensity of socializing (thinking bars, parties, etc). In particular, I'm thinking of the college swimmers returning from high-risk states.
