I can remember as a child, I really enjoyed the magazine Cobblestone, but I don't know if she's interested in History. Does she have any specific interests? Cooking, sports, animals, hobbies, etc? I think there are magazines for nearly everything under the sun and if a children's version isn't available, a 10 year old is probably ready for some regular versions of magazines, depending on the topic.

Hoagies has a wealth of links to anything/everything cool and interesting for kids in all kinds of subjects. Here are some magazine lists you might find helpful:

We dropped Stone Soup when they dropped the print magazine, but it looks like they're back to printing it.

Jack and Jill is still printing, too, I think.

I hate the name, but Boys' Life is really good.

I'd look at whatever magazine in the Cricket series is in her age range. (Spider, maybe?)

My 10 year old daughter loves magazine subscriptions. We already get The Week Jr, Nat Geo, and Highlights. Any other magazine subscription ideas for a 10 year old girl who loves to read?
