Exposure on Saturday wouldn’t result in a positive test on Monday. School should shut down for 2 weeks because the teacher had to have it at least on Friday. I’d also question this teacher. Did they go visit with someone who was waiting on a positive test? There are so many things wrong with this situation.

She very well could have had covid at school. I'd keep my child out at least for a week, preferably 2 weeks.

Agreed. If it were not a known exposure my answer would be different.

Today is Thu already. Teacher tested positive on Monday but when were parents notified? If I found out on Mon or Tue, I'd gave kept child home rest of the week. For people who get it, symptoms often show up within 5-6 days.

But how can anyone know whether she was exposed prior to that?

The HD won’t close a class unless the positive teacher or student was in the classroom within 48 hours of symptoms beginning or a positive test. Seems crazy in some cases but true.
Also, it’s unlikely that being exposed on Saturday would show up already on a test Monday.

Right, but she could've already had it on Saturday and didn't know it. I'd call the health department and ask for guidance.

Exposed on the weekend could be a lot of things. It could be exposed at the grocery store. It could be exposed getting a flu shot at CVS.

How on earth would anyone know that she was exposed on Saturday? Does she not work with kids during the week?

Is she positive the exposure was Saturday? That seems like the key question to me.

It seems unlikely that she would test positive 2 days after being exposed. I would guess she was positive at least on Friday.

Teacher was exposed to Covid Saturday. She stayed home Monday and tested positive. They aren’t shutting classroom down since technically teacher wasn’t in school while positive. Would you be keeping your kid home anyway?
