I set my daughter up with a Stitch Fix account this summer, and she started a Pinterest board to share with her stylist. It worked out well, because it got her try things she might otherwise not have, and gave her a few fall pieces to build from. She chose some comfortable pants that I don't think she would have ever tried on otherwise, and we found similar styles in different colors at Target later.

I was thinking about giving her a Stitch Fix gift card for Christmas, because we'd held off buying winter stuff until we knew whether she'd be going back into the school building or not. I think she's ready to shop now, but neither one of us are ready to brave the mall just yet.

Do you have an idea of where her friends are shopping? That has always influenced my DD who tends to be a little unaware about fashion and hasn't quite figured out her style.

My two teenage daughters shop almost exclusively at thrift stores - and their friends too. It's a thing.

Can she make a Pinterest board or look at fashion catalogues or even TikToks and write a specific list of what she wants? I find that’s more effective than just browsing stores.

My DD doesn’t like leggings and doesn’t like jeans and doesn’t like trousers.

My 14 yo shops at American Eagle, Free People, Abercrombie, Poshmark and Madewell (for the very rare pair of jeans). For more comfy cotton/stretch/sweat pant styles she likes Athleta.

I am going to get DD to look at these online again. She has perused (I just asked her) but has not found anything she wants yet. She also hates jeans (won’t even wear soft jeans). She prefers cotton pants, stretch pants or sweatpants. Oye. I don’t remember going through this as a teen.

Abercrombie is popular with my 14 year old when she wants to look nicer. Mostly, REI/Dicks and sports related T-shirts and hoodies though

DD is 13. She wears women’s size clothes. She has normally shops at H&M and Target. She does not like Macy’s, Forever 21, Gap, Uniqlo, American Eagle etc. sometimes she might find one thing she likes there. But she doesn’t normally look there first or her clothes. She is going through changing her style and she really does not know what she likes anymore. She wants to go to the mall and go shopping, which is a big no right now. So I’ve been purchasing online and then sending back what she does not like… Which is almost everything she picks out. What are some online stores that your daughters are buying clothes from? Is Amazon worth it?
