If we all don't do our part, our schools won't open for this school year. Yet this break out is among a group who wants to return. I want to return but this type of behavior is delaying what 70% of us want, in-person school.

Most of the families that I know who want to return also don't believe covid is a huge deal, and that since the vast vast majority of kids recover with no issues that it isn't something to stop life. They also are families that haven't focused on self-isolating or at least keeping a very very small bubble. I don't know what school OP is referencing, but our kids attend one of them and my statements here are based only on what I see on social media and in our neighborhood and local parks.
