Check the boy/girl ratio. Some have twice as many girls as boys which tends to be a weird kind of dynamic.

Marquette and Creighton also are good safety schools but far away .

Not surprising, as Dayton is a huge party school.

Weird the kids I know that go there are kind of low key student, nice, not partiers, not intense ... just normal.

Partiers go to Georgetown and BC ... rah rah, chest thumpers

+1 I'm in California and yes, don't forget Santa Clara! Close to Silicon Valley; lots of options. My friend's son goes there and loves it.

Loyola Chicago has a pretty campus on the lakefront. Basketball team spirit. Rolling admission.

Does anyone have insight about/experience with the more moderately-competitive Catholic colleges, i.e. CUA, USF, USD, Seattle, Regis, the Loyolas, U of Portland?

DD would like to attend a Catholic college and is interested in political science/IR, possibly law eventually (does Model UN, Mock Trial, student newspaper), very into social justice work, particularly environmental. She's open to geographic areas but would rather be in/near a decent-sized city. We are Catholic, but on the liberal end of the spectrum, so I think she would be miserable at a more conservative Catholic school.

Top choices are Boston College, Holy Cross, and Georgetown. DePaul and Providence are also on the list, along with a couple in-state publics. Her college counselor feels she has the stats to get in to these but has advised us to look at safeties. Any thoughts? Thanks!
