It is a disaster for tournament organizers to cancel the whole thing, so I understand why they wanted to do as much as they could.

If people want to be mad at anyone, be mad at Maryland's leadership who prioritized putting positive spin on how the pandemic was being managed here rather than conveying complete factual information about Maryland' rising metrics throughout October. Perhaps it that would have happened, we wouldn't be in this situation now.

Well, OP. If it is any consolation, I wish it had been canceled for Maryland teams too. I considered pulling my son.

There is so much COVID circulating out there. I took my daughter to get a test today, just because she's done with soccer now and I wanted to make sure she's not an asymptomatic carrier. The line was huge.

And? The teams signed the agreements and knew the risks. There are costs to run these tournaments.
