For the last few years, we’ve gone on a hike the morning of Thanksgiving day - that’s an easy one to still do safely. Otherwise we’ll be enjoying a few days away from the computer for work and school.

Curious. Are you high risk? Otherwise I can’t imagine keeping my kids home when socialization can be done safely. Masks, socially distanced...

Reports are showing it’s not safe. You can creatively justify it but stop complaining about schools being closed as you are why we will not open this school year. Everyone is high risk.

What reports are these that show outdoor transmission when using safety precautions? Oh wait, there aren’t any. My kid isn’t getting covid from a socially distanced, masked bike ride with a friend. And my kids are in school.

We are in town for Tgiving - hoping to do an outdoor meal on Tgiving with my parents on the actual day but other than no plans.

We are going to try to do a family Turkey trot on Tgiving. If good weather we might do hikes or something. My husband’s bday is on Tgiving. Any ideas for me?? Lol.

But many of us can. Especially right now. Go buzz other forums with your nonsense.

We like hiking, and I’ve been researching trails/parks within an hour drive that we haven’t yet visited. I keep a running list. So we will go hiking, but otherwise likely just do stuff at home— baking, Lego, science experiments, purge rooms ahead of Christmas, arts/crafts, etc etc.

We will do the zoo, museums and probably the Baltimore Aquarium. We will try some new playgrounds and outdoor areas. We have some projects around the house that kids can help with.

Nothing. We will load up on books from the library and read and bake and nap and play with the dog and FaceTime people, and that's about it.

My kids have the whole week off of (in person)school. I have enough PTO to take off whatever. We have no local family and are not really "podding" with anyone. We could have people over for an outdoor dinner, but I'm a little edgy about the risk and feel like cooking all day to have people shiver in the back yard and then be stressed about COVID isn't worth it (where I live it would likely be a high of about 62 that day, so we do have the option of eating outdoors). DH thinks I'm being a crank about hosting. WE have a short getaway to a vrbo planned for after XMAS, so I don't have much budget to do another night away during that break. BUT seriously. We've been on all the bike rides. We've watched all the movies. We've painted still lives. What are you all doing to make it fun or at least not horrible? Kids are 12,9,6
