Yes, their response has been abysmal. Just wanted to throw out names that are well-known. In all honesty, we are not interested in Dalton specifically.

Look at neighborhood public schools too. There are many great ones.

I’m sure you can find a placement but you should keep an open mind.

We are well aware of the admissions cycles, thank you! And yes, we know lots of people who couldn't even get into the pile of applications to be reviewed at Trinity but have already had parent interviews at Dalton so definitely view it as less competitive.

Ordinarily I would say yes but with Covid it’s definitely a possibility. We are at a great 2nd tier school and there was a decent amount of attrition this year as several families moved away and I think there will be even more at the end of this year. So it’s definitely a possibility.

We are from NY but moved to DC a few years ago and are looking to move back to NY. Next year would be ideal given our child is going into a universal entry year for school however, it is proving difficult to align everything just so in order to make it work. Is it really impossible to get a spot at a good, maybe even competitive private school for a non-entry year? Not talking about Trinity level but possibly Dalton which I view as just a step less competitive.
