Honest question: why does anyone really care? I agree it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but of all the things to be concerned about?

What was essential about this trip? Serious question.

It was essential just like her taxpayer-funded trip to Cuba in February during a blizzard or her taxpayer-funded trip to Paris in Spring or her Jemal developer-funded home purchase on the gold coast. She gives zero effs what anyone thinks, just drives beachward in her shiny new lexus. Meanwhile, all of our Delaware/NJ beach vacations were cancelled, we cannot even get our drivers' licenses renewed, and we're being told not to travel for Thanksgiving. Irresponsible and hypocritical.
