This! My husband and I are rabid Trump supporters. We will accept the results once all is clear. Republicans 2024! Enjoy while you can! Life is still good with us!

Not if you’re a mature adult who can handle differences of opinion.

Sorry to hear it OP. My DH is a Republican. It’s been more tense this past year than ever before but he does believe in democracy and has worked on the Hill and in the Exec branch and understands the importance of bipartisanship. I’m glad it’s over, trump is the only R President in whom I saw no redeeming qualities, while DH was able to see a few policy bright spots.

Then go claws out on the custody battle.

OP, please read Lundy Bancroft’s book “why does he do that”. Also go to his Facebook page and to the blog of Tina Swindon. Lots of support out there. Sending you hugs.

We basically haven’t talked about anything meaningful in 4 years.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I have realized a profound truth that most Trump supporters have narcissistic personality disorder. I’m a clinician and feel confident saying this. So there are likely many problems in your marriage and your husband being a Trump supporter is only one of them. It must not been easy to stand up for your believes being married to a person with NPD. I’m here to tell you that you will get through this and divorcing this man will mean that your kids will spend at least fifty percent of their home lives not in the presence of a bully.

We have kids (12 and 8).
I had no idea he would be like this when we met and married. Marriage hasn’t been good in years, but we’ve never spoken about it.

This is going to be painful, but you made the right decision not backing down to appease your husband. You will be happier for this choice, and you’re setting a good example for your kids. It’s sad that your husband is choosing to blow up your family out of hate, though, if it’s okay to mourn that.

Did I write this post? Angry husband keeps saying the election is not over as they are still counting votes and Trump hasn’t conceded.

Pretty sure you don’t have to concede:

Raise a glass and enjoy the speech, OP!

Bye Felicia.

You will be so much happier in a few years.

Mourn the loss of who you thought he was, move on.

Well, the election did us in. Or rather, the fact that I talked to my kids about my support of Biden and am going to watch him speak on TV tonight.

Not sure what I am looking for here, I guess advice on how to deal with this.
