any chance you can park the car and leave the trunk open to air it out...

especially on a sunny and windy day. if you have a garage, leave it open over night. if you have an electric fan, put it in the trunk as well to keep air moving to really dry it out.

the key will be getting the sound deadning/insulation dried out. best to remove it and replace as it will take forever to dry out if you dont take it out of the trunk

If they put in a new lining, you should be fine. This happened to us in the back seat footwell because the drain lines around the moon roof clogged up. If it still seems damp, you can get some dehumidifying crystals at the hardware store and they will pull any residual water out of the air. You put the crystals in a cup and the cup will fill with water if there is humidity.

Yes, this happened to me. The lining wore away and the trunk collected water. I didn't realize it had been full of water for months and there was too much mold. I ended up getting rid of the car because the damage was too bad and insurance wouldn't cover it.

Get a shop vac and suck as much as you can, get some dehumidifier buckets and leave them in the trunk for the next year. Maybe spray with bleach solution or vinegar to prevent mold. When home, get a high velocity fan and point it in turnk to run as much as you can (in a garage preferably)

Apparently the rubber lining around my trunk wore out. The bottom of my trunk was full of water. I mean full. Like it looked I backed into a pond.

We took it to the shop for new lining and to clean it out. But I feel like I need to deep clean it or something. I had no clue this was even a possibility. Anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions for cleaning? What should I do when I get it back?
