White has even obstructed DCPS's plan to send back a portion of special needs, homeless, and other at risk elementary school children. As the parent of SN kids, I'm disgusted by his actions to obstruct kids getting access to education, as distance learning isn't working for many of them and the gap is widening. He supports WTU's demands that teachers be allowed to refuse to go back in person without any reason. At this rate, not only will DCPS not have enough teachers to even reopen for a portion of homeless, special needs, and other at risk children, but this precludes reopening for any students during the pandemic.
If you want schools to open at all, even for the most vulnerable DC children, then please don't vote for Robert White.
That may all be true, but he's going to easily win reelection.
The other at-large spot will be filled by someone who gets very few votes. More people will vote *against* this person than for this person, yet they still will land a spot on the Council. It's a profoundly stupid system.
Yep and it only exists as a form of affirmative action for conservatives. Congress wrote these rules.
