When we drive to a different hiking trail or a different park, yes, it’s a field trip. We’re also doing a nature study while walking, noting topography while biking, or discussing maps on the way to and from the location.

Is there something specific you want DC to get that you think is missing? If it’s just a vague sense that variety is the spice of life then leave them alone in their “boring” routine. Young kids crave consistency more than variety. If you are worried that DC isn’t getting some specific kind of activity then maybe bring it up.

I taken mine to Brookside gardens for a walk around every couple of weeks. We go to local parks for walks, we have been to playgrounds, I take them to meet friends in eplty parking lots to ride their scooters or bikes. We have been to walk around the Monuments and to the zoo.

Sure, we do the same. OP just said they're already going to playgrounds and used the term "field trip" so I had no idea what she had in mind to make her nanny do.

Not at all necessary. My son loves his routine with his nanny and it allows DH and I to do “field trips” with him on weekends.

Yes to outdoor locations. Playgrounds, walks, scooter rides, climbing trees etc

Such as to outdoor locations? Right now she and my 3yo are happy in their routine of playground all morning, followed by lunch, nap, and indoor play. Just wondering if I should suggest breaking it up with a field trip once a week. We do take her to parks for walking/hiking during the weekends
