Better question: why is Arlington playing State Cup with its ECNL teams???

No I'm not being naive. I have observed many clubs over fifteen years of my children playing youth soccer in this area. Coaches routinely reschedule games to avoid conflicts and in some cases even because of a large number of injuries/illness. This is the first time in that entire period (almosy thirty child soccer years, and dozens of rescheduled games) that instead of accomodating such a request, the other club has demanded a forfeit for a league match (tournaments are different for obvious reasons).

The only thing that isn't surprising is that it's Loudoun who stooped so low.

So, hearsay... got it.

He's on one of the teams whose games Loudoun is refusing to reschedule - so no - not really.

Good luck to your kid in their state cup game tho, hope they have a performance they can be proud of.

I don’t know about that. I don’t think Arlington would do that, at least older age coaches. But there might be a decent reason. What does Loudoun have to say?

That’s just naive. Every big club would do the same, because results are the main thing that they care about. Of course they’ll tell you differently to your face, because they’re trying to keep their customers.

No - you're wrong here. Some clubs would. Others most certainly would not.

Absolutely false. Most of the clubs get along very well, and even when they do not, coaches routinely cooperate and accommodate, even among clubs where the parents think there is a ton of rivalry. I think this is unusual. Only idiotic parents would take forfeits seriously as wins. Cmon.

Yep - Arlington would most definitely not do this.

To me it's just like the tryout issue under the old DA. You could always tell the clubs which put the club before the kids when they refused permission for kids to tryout with other clubs (something they were allowed to do under DA rules). Neither Loudoun nor VDA would allow kids to tryout anywhere else. Arlington never withheld permission.

What a great deal for all the kids on both clubs who will now sit at home instead of playing a game of soccer this weekend so Loudoun (the club) can claim they beat Arlington. Way to put club before kids yet again.

This is typical of Loudoun. And you know they didn't discuss this with any of the kids or parents who are paying hundreds of dollars per game for their kids to play on an ECNL team either. Loudoun parents should ask for a refund.
