I ended up changing out my pedals for speedplay after I tore my meniscus twister not out of the OEM pedals. We like the speedplays so much more.

OP here - Ok I got the other shoe clipped in and I just left them in for now! I did my first workout and I liked it. I think this will be good to have an indoor workout option and a cross training option from running. Thanks again for your help. One day I will clip out

I was struggling with all of the tips here in mind, and watching the video on clipping in and out on the bike itself which is a side view let me see what was happening underneath really helped.

I just came here to say this! It’s the only way I can get out.

I also have had an issue with whacking and bruising my other shin when pulling out of the second cleat (I take the first one out and then dismount the bike, then take the second one out.) So make sure you steer clear of that.

One other tip, which is covered in the videos but I still missed at first: for both clipping in and out, make sure the pedal is in the most downward 6:00) position.

I read somewhere that you clip in like you're stepping into a high heel and clip out like you're putting out a cigarette on the ground (twist your ankle to the outside).

My secret - I just leave my shoes clipped in. Makes it easier to get on and ride throughout the day and night.

I could not clip out when we first got ours. I had to take my feet out of the shoes and pull the shoes off with my hands. After 150+ rides my legs are stronger and I can pop right out of the clips. Some people just leave their shoes clipped in.

A couple of things

1. Make sure the delta cleat is under your big toe.
2. You may need to tighten your cleats and/or loosen the pedal.

3. Make sure you have most of your weight over the leg you are trying to clip out but are supported by the bike using your hands. Twist your foot like you are trying to snub out a cigarette (think of the movie Grease).

Wrench clipped in ankle away frommthe pedal. Right on right side left on left. It feels awkward at first but it’s how you do it.

Ugh ! I am so frustrated ha! Got a new peloton today - never used one before and I can’t clip in or out! One I managed to clip in somehow and now I can’t clip it out. I had to take off the shoe which is still attached to the pedal. The other one I could never clip in and eventually gave up. I’ve watched a bunch of YouTube videos and none of them help! What the heck! Did anyone else have this problem!
