I found one at our library earlier this year and he wouldn't even read because of all of the girls on the cover.

You need to get your son into sensitivity training immediately. This type of mental illness so young is a real problem. Boys must learn to accept powerful women.

He likes male leads that he can relate to.

Thanks but no thanks for your unwarranted advice.

The Keeper: The Unguarded Story of Tim Howard Young Readers' Edition. It is a great book even if your child isn't a keeper.

Matt Christopher has a lot of soccer and other sports books. My boys read them all. He has a series called Soccer Cats that is a really easy chapter book intro and then lots of individual soccer/baseball/football books that are slightly more advanced. Like the first set might be 7-10 and the rest are 8-12. They are all engaging and fun. Another writer that has books about every sport is Mike Lupica. And there are also countless non-fiction books by World Soccer Legends and biographies by DK.

Also second The Kicks and Wild Soccer Bunch.

Now he is asking for soccer books. Any suggestions for this age?

Thanks.

There is a series of books called The Wild Soccer Bunch. My son read a couple of them and enjoyed them.

I ordered the first one to try.
