It is currently OVER 5% Fairfax county had 191 cases reported today and consistently over 100. We haven’t seen numbers like this since May. With holiday travel, things are not looking good for winter sports.

FCPS has started some sports conditioning inside. Other programs were told they might start this coming week. All conditioning should be shut down bc it really is crazy the number of kids that are attending large halloween parties and their own "fake" homecomings and then going to conditionings and giving it to the rest of the kids who have been playing it safe. Parents are keeping very quiet about when they know their children are doing this, but then the kids post it all over tik tok and instagram. The college kids are all home right now too from Va colleges. Not sure if they are studying for exams but add them to the mix. There won't be winter sports in Fairfax County.

We have lower covid rates than most of the state! If anyone gets to play, it should be our kids.

NoVa is cuurently within the suggested CDC 5% infection level so I think that decision is realistic.

Yes they said on Fairfax AD town hall that those 2 were smaller jurisdictions who decided against VHSL plan some weeks ago.

Was interested to read that 2 unnamed jurisdictions had notified VHSL that they would not be participating in winter sports.

Governor approved VHSL plan this morning. HS winter sports - including basketball - cleared to start December 7th.

Let's say you're a high school basketball coach in Illinois. You know that your players have to wear masks as they compete out on the court. What offense and defense do you run?

Illinois is pushing ahead on indoor basketball. Will the DC beltway counties even consider?

Players required to wear masks while playing. Good idea?

It’s really up to VHSL and the governor.
