Ill dissent. I just recently posted my dads house in Iowa and actually got some exceptionally good feedback-things I didn’t notice or think of and I was able to make some changes to the listing based on that feedback.

People were definitely mean though, but that’s to be expected on this site.

In the end, some crazy person did find the thread and start berating me for posting about my dads house. I didn’t feel I shared anything too personal, but it made me nervous how intense this person was so I asked Jeff to delete the thread and he did almost immediately.

Btw, in my case the thread never came up on google when putting in the address.

Smart move to post under a username so you could edit the original post!

FWIW, I think I found your house based on the information you had originally posted. The lot size was off (although Zillow shows an adjacent empty lot that might account for the difference), but the BR/BA count matched, the price history showed a sale that had fallen through, and the lot looks like an easement on the driveway might have been a thing. So, yeah, that was pretty identifiable from the original info you gave.

I was going to say that you probably don't have much to be worried about (if that is you house, it looks nice, though it's not my style, personally). But I'm not sure a house exists that some people on these forums won't hate. DCUM is a great place to get brutally honest feedback if that's what you want, but you really need a thick skin.

To demonstrate, assuming you posted true information about address, acreage, bedrooms, bath, and pending/listing status, someone should be able to find your property without you even posting it.

If you fudged some details to keep anonymous, that would be wise. Maybe claim you did either way ("I never lie. I'm lying right now")

Yes, you can include the listing, but beware - people can be very critical/nasty.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, and I apologize if I missed a rule here.

As a seller, am I allowed to provide listing information for my home?

My home was under contract but is now back on the market.

Or, at minimum, can anyone lend me some advice on how to "come back" from losing a contract? The loss is not related to the condition or state of the home.
