PP, should also note, Facebook message has access to your phone contact list so generally those will also be people who populate in the People you may know box.

They dated for about 3 years and were even engaged. But something happened and they broke off the engagement and eventually broke up. (she refuses to tell me what caused this or the break up)
I had suggested she gets help but she's brushed it off and said that it's normal for people to, be interested in what their exes are doing.
Gift her a book on getting past your breakup. This isn’t normal. I suspect she has some guilt to not share why the split happened, and that guilt makes it easy for her to dwell in the past.

I think a lot of people do regular stalking of their ex on social media, that part doesn't bother me. But showing up to places where he is? Now that's going too far.

Okay, that is a bit dramatic
. But, yes - this is not healthy and she does need to move on. Has she not pursued dating other men? "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." (or something like that)

I just had to yell at my sister about her almost obsessive nature of stalking her ex's Facebook. It's as if she cannot move on after two and a half years. Even though the guy she was with is already engaged to another woman, she stalks his page everyday at almost the same time.
