I had to conceive a child through IVF at 27. Yes, 27. OP, women's bodies and choices are not the stereotypes you have in your head. Please educate yourself.

I wanted to finish my education and start my career before I had children. I knew I would be dedicated to them once they arrived. Married at 32. Travelled and enjoyed just us for 2 years. First child born when I was 34 last at 39.

Wrong forum OP. This town is full of women that would gross you out. The average age of a FTM on this forum is likely 36+

Did you know that in societies without birth control, the average age of the mother at birth of her last child is 41? It’s perfectly normal to have children at 40 and beyond.

What's so magic about 40? Some women are menopausal, many are not. There are many babies conceived naturally at 40. Not as many as when you are in your 20s or 30s, but still many (and there are plenty of babies conceived with interventions when the women are in their 20s and 30s). Every body is different.

Some people lose parents at young ages. A close friend of mine lost her mother to a car accident when we were 20. Her mom was in her 40s. She never anticipated that. Meanwhile, I have another friend who was a surprise baby, born when her mom was 42. Her mom is in her mid 70s and totally healthy, could be around for another 20 years. You never know. Life is complicated and surprising.

Many 40 yr old moms are extremely healthy. Many 20-something moms are not.

There is no "retirement age" for becoming a mom. And more importantly, it's none of your damn business.

Well there are about a million reasons. Some people didn't manage to have one earlier for various reasons and want one. Other people just like having kids and want another one or at least don't mind having another one such that they don't prevent it. Some cultures really appreciate big families, which in turn typically means being open to a new baby at any stage.

Because life is gray. I didn't meet my DH till I was 37. I'm not going to not have a baby because it grosses you out.
