Post 10/27/2020 18:56     Subject: Ballot not yet received what can I do

I used the Va official site listed above. It only tells me that my request was approved. Doesn't tell me that my ballot was received or pre-processed. Yet, I know that my ballot was in fact received and preprocessed. Sorry, OP...the ballot tracking tools have limited use. But, like I said....if you put it in an official drop box, it was received and likely pre-processed (i.e. scanned).

No one at the elections office is "trying to suppress" your vote. Ballot scout doesn't work when you don't mail it back.

Your ballot was dropped off in a drop box... it was received. It isn't showing up on those ballot trackers b/c those are for the mail. You didn't mail your ballot.

Trust me, though your ballot has been received. If you filled it out properly, it has been pre-processed.

Seriously. Do not worry!

I myself got a mail in ballot, filled it out, and dropped it in the drop box. I know for a fact that it has been pre-processed (which mean scanned) b/c I have looked it up. (I have access to the computer system). This was a month ago! When I look at Ballot Scout it still says "based on delivery schedule you should expect your ballot to arrive Oct. 5th"!

Don't trust those ballot tracking tools if you did not go through the US postal service. They don't work.

I guarantee you that your ballot was received. If there was a defect in your ballot/envelope, the registrar's office is required to call you and give you an opportunity to "cure" the defect. So, again... don't worry! Your ballot has been counted or you will receive a call/letter.

Not sure what this PP is talking about but my takeaway is that they are trying to suppress your vote. I dropped off my ballot in a drop box (did not mail it back) and it was marked as received the next business day. If you used the website linked above to check and it's not showing as received, I'd call your Board of Elections, OP.

When you say "last week," do you mean like Tuesday of last week or Friday? If Friday, I wouldn't worry yet.

How are you tracking the ballot? If through Ballot Scout, don't bother. Go here instead: https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation and fill out the form for absentee. At the end it will show you the status of the ballot.

If you have your ballot, bring it to the polls. Tell them you've changed your mind and want to vote in person.

Your ballot at the polls will be considered provisional. Meaning it won't be counted until after they confirm you didn't send in the mail in ballot.

If you have a mail in ballot, it's better to not vote in person and generate a provisional ballot. Instead, drop your mail in ballot in the ballot drop box that is at all early voting polls.

How does this help OP?

I dropped my ballot off at an elastic voting location last week and it has not yet been received. I’m in Nova and now I’m worried . What can I do?
